while riding along the A64 to york doing 80mph or there about.
I notice a speed scamra on the opposite side of the dual carriage way.
it was one of them unmarked type van's and just above the drivers seat a little flap open yes seen the lenze!
now I'm not sure if the scamra was aim onto my side of the road or his.
the question is do they work like that? or do you need to be on the same side of the road for them to nab ya.
must admit I have that feeling that the bastids has got me :eek

don't know what speed I was doing but when I looked down at my clock it read 75mph so my guess would be around 80mph.
look like I'm with in the limit for speed awareness course. so if I do get a nip I'll take that rout.
I don't have a fast bike but fast enough for me and my wife.
we usually ride around 60mph but we went to Matlock bath so we wanted to get to Whitby for cuppa quickly and then home..time was getting on.
we live in Stockton so it was a canny ride.
thanks for the replies and info.
I used to own a 03 Fazer 600 had that bike for 4.5 years.I still like to pop in now again to see what you lot get up to
I traded it in for a ER6F big mistake I just couldn't get a long with it,the seat was very uncomfortable etc
fazer I bought new- some times wished that I'd kept it but I'm very happy with what I've got now.

If you were heading towards the camera you will be ok they don't have your number plate have a nice sleep tonight.

If it was on the other side of the road looking at traffic in the other carriageway, then it could have got you as you were riding away from it. I once made the mistake of seeing the van but assuming as it was looking at the traffic heading towards it, I would be OK. I wasn't.........
A64 - was it a single carriageway or dual carriageway section? I know with speed guns they have a nice hideaway at Rillington, and waiting up slip-roads and on flyovers on the D/C sections.
75mph, I reckon your true speed will have been 67 / 68 mph.

as for speed as soon as as I saw the van I eased off.
been doing 80 most of the time'I just kept the throttle in the same position...
so going down it will speed up a little and slower going up etc.
I'll soon find out if I get the nip or not.
hope fully my speedo will be out but what I do know at 30mph she is fairly accurate,
well according to those boards on lamp post that light up your speeds.

The LED speed indication boards are not accurate and always overread slightly to keep your speed down. (I only know this as my car at work has a calibrated speedo)
Your speedo will be overreading slightly, so with a bit of luck you won't be getting that NIP 8)
Stop polishing it and ride the bloody thing!!

Those LED boards are great at instant guilt, well with me it does, BUT there is one near me thats flashes 40MPH when doing 35mph in a 40. Not very accurate.

Gotta admit, there's a gatso camera about 100 metres after an led speed board in Blackpool. We used to have a competition to see who could get the highest reading on it then brake back to 30 in time for the gatso. >

No point in worrying about it. If you were nicked lesson learnt.

That's not good at all :-( surely you can contest it somehow with Speedo calibration or something ?

No, law allows speedo to over read but not under read.
Asked about speed awareness course but not a option

When a Gatso first appeared at "The Winning Post" on the A316 near Twickenham I used to enjoy riding past at exactly 40mph then as I crossed the final measurement mark on the road would accelerate as hard as possible. The bike would still be in the range of the microwave speed sensor when it exceeded the limit by enough to trigger the unit. The double flash amused me, knowing that without the corroborating evidence from the road markings their pictures were useless. :evil
