Headlight alignment

Anyone tried powering the headlight bulbs with a 12v charger to enable alignment without engine running?

Electrically there is no reason why you can't do this, but as your going to have to do this on the bike, why not just put the charger on the battery while the ignition is on then you wont drain the battery etc.

I used a 12v PSU to do this and worked well.

And dont forget that headlight alignment needs to be done whilst you are sat on the bike
