If you are coming home this week, the forecast in the south is quite reasonable, not up to Cyprus standards of course. Smile

Our Day 11 of 16 touring North East Spain and southern France in early July was 35C of scorching sunshine near Avignon, you could not ride in it. We braved it for 4 days, cried enough  and decided to head back up central France to a lovely more rideable 24C. I can feel your to your "Pain" Big Grin

Thankfully we're not on the bikes, but in an air conditioned Mazda. It hasn't dropped below 30 degs in the day, some days peaking at 38! I have a friend out here, he sold his ZX10 and bought a Multistrada new. He hasn't ridden that in so long the clutch needs bleeding. Once upon a time, I may have been tempted to move here, but not until I can't ride anymore LOL

The belt service on the Multistrada is 5 years, irrespective if the engines been run or not. Seems a shame for it to be parked up, but totally get the heat”problem”. In the late 90’s, whilst staying in Paphos, I hired a knackered old CB900, but it hardly turned a wheel in the week I had it, as the weather was so hot.

We arrived back in Birmingham in the small hours of Monday morning. 35 Degs C to 14 Degs C. Blue skies to pouring rain.
Why are there people endangering their own lives trying to get here - surely with the present climate we should all be leaving!

Wish my new Renthals had been on the same page as yours. Had to get a 14.5mm drill bit to get them threaded in the end. Three Shredded Wheat wasn't good enough?

Failed to get the left heated grip off without damage, so that’s another £25 out of the “get the Fazer back on the road” budget?

You think that's bad - the Chrysler failed its MOT, needs to much time spent on it for me to bother, so I have had to buy another car to get the tools, equipment and beer around in.

The worst is yet to come..........

It's an Audi  Car Cry

Shame about the Chrysler,I remember you getting it. A project to go with other projects maybe. Donated my Vectra to the Ukraine support organisation, as it was far too good to crush, diesel only 73k and I bought it one year old with 4k. Just about run in. At present car less. I fancy an Octavia petrol, but so far ŠKODA dealers only seem to have dented and scratched ones, that I’m supposed to accept as “after all you’re not buying a new car sir”.
What model Audi did you get, and did you stick to a manual gearbox.

I managed to pick up an '08' plate A6 Estate 2.7TDI Quattro. Auto. Bloody lovely to drive and fairly quick with it as well. It has a bigger luggage space than the USS Chrysler!

Any particular reason why you want an Octavia?

You can get a Fabia Mark 2 with reasonable mileage for a good price, I just replaced mine that had done 86k after it got T-boned by a girl who drove straight through a Give Way line Sad

I got a 2012 TSI that had done just under 60k for £4295 which was only £300 more than the previous one cost.

The Octavia estate is a similar sized car to my Vectra, which had been a perfect car for my needs. Will no doubt just buy a banger as a stop gap until something I really like comes along. Obviously has to be ULEZ compliant. I didn’t want to lose the Vectra, but at the same time refused to give that weasel Khan £12.50 every time I wanted to use my car.

"Weasel?" - that's an insult to an indigenous British mammal.
