R1 Clocks Switch - Electrical help
#1
Can anyone with a bit of electrical know how give me a hand with this?

I'm trying to switch the clocks on my 2000 plate FZS600 with a R1 (5JJ) clocks.

I have the R1 front end on the bike, having the corresponding speed sensor / clocks seemed like a good idea at the time :rollin

I'm struggling with working out what's what, on the R1 terminal from the wiring diagram.

Perhaps I am going about it the wrong way?

Is it the same as the early FZ1/FZS1000 sensor running from the front sprocket?  If so, why not just run it to the original clocks as forum member Muddybuddy did?

Hi Kebab.

I could do but i kind of want the challenge of getting these to work.

I will document it all in case it does come off then anyone else who wants to give it a bash has an initial leg up.

Does anyone know if i can actually narrow down each wire in the loom using the wiring diagram?

Cheers,

James

Are you trying to connect the R1 main harness to the Fazer? Or are you trying to connect the Fazer wiring to the R1 instrment panel?

Hi ben,

I am trying to connect the R1 instrument panel, to the Fazer main harness.

The bike is a FZS600 2000 (5DM). With the normal loom etc.

But the Clocks/ instrument panel are off the R1 (5JJ).

So I will be using the connector for the R1 instrument panel, from an R1 front loom that I purchased. Then cutting off the wires at the  at the loom end, then matching up each of the wires function,  with the Fazer wires by colour.

I've attached an update to your spreadsheet. This shows (I hope/think) what wires from the R1 are going into the instrument cluster. I guess the next step find the equivalent wires on the Fazer wiring diagram.
