R1 Clocks Switch - Electrical help - Jbizzle - 21-10-20 Can anyone with a bit of electrical know how give me a hand with this? I'm trying to switch the clocks on my 2000 plate FZS600 with a R1 (5JJ) clocks. I have the R1 front end on the bike, having the corresponding speed sensor / clocks seemed like a good idea at the time :rollin I'm struggling with working out what's what, on the R1 terminal from the wiring diagram. Perhaps I am going about it the wrong way? Re: R1 Clocks Switch - Electrical help - Disorderlypunk - 22-10-20 if you ever get it sorted and working right please let us know cause it seems like a nice little upgrade Re: R1 Clocks Switch - Electrical help - kebab19 - 22-10-20 Is it the same as the early FZ1/FZS1000 sensor running from the front sprocket? If so, why not just run it to the original clocks as forum member Muddybuddy did? http://foc-u.co.uk/index.php/topic,14254.msg162228.html#msg162228 Re: R1 Clocks Switch - Electrical help - Jbizzle - 27-10-20 Hi Kebab. I could do but i kind of want the challenge of getting these to work. I will document it all in case it does come off then anyone else who wants to give it a bash has an initial leg up. Does anyone know if i can actually narrow down each wire in the loom using the wiring diagram? Cheers, James Re: R1 Clocks Switch - Electrical help - ben - 28-10-20 Are you trying to connect the R1 main harness to the Fazer? Or are you trying to connect the Fazer wiring to the R1 instrment panel? Re: R1 Clocks Switch - Electrical help - Jbizzle - 29-10-20 Hi ben, I am trying to connect the R1 instrument panel, to the Fazer main harness. The bike is a FZS600 2000 (5DM). With the normal loom etc. But the Clocks/ instrument panel are off the R1 (5JJ). So I will be using the connector for the R1 instrument panel, from an R1 front loom that I purchased. Then cutting off the wires at the at the loom end, then matching up each of the wires function, with the Fazer wires by colour. Re: R1 Clocks Switch - Electrical help - Disorderlypunk - 29-10-20 have a look at http://www.robcollingridge.com/kitcar/design/engine/clocks.html might be a bit of help to figure some of it out Re: R1 Clocks Switch - Electrical help - ben - 29-10-20 I've attached an update to your spreadsheet. This shows (I hope/think) what wires from the R1 are going into the instrument cluster. I guess the next step find the equivalent wires on the Fazer wiring diagram. I will give it a crack in the next month or so. |
