Fender Extender

Are they worth it?
Do they make a difference?


I'm thinking they possibly do but am worried it'll spoil the look of the bike. They only seem to come in black, not sure it'll go with my silver steed.


If they are worth it any recommendations?
Do the adhesive ones stay stuck or is drilling the best way?


Whilst I'm here what about belly pans? Loads more expensive so an expensive addition if they're of little use.

They work very well and are definitely worth fitting to keep water and stones from abusing the radiator, and black will be fine on a silver bike.
The best way is to drill a couple of holes, then they're fixed on with two plastic nut & bolts. Adhesive probably works okay but if you're an all year round rider in all weathers then you may as well do things properly, as it is an area that will get abused by the elements.
If you haven't already got one i would recommend a radiator cover as well.
Belly pans are just a cosmetic thing, and more about looks than having any practical use.

Fenda extenda first mod I put on all my bikes (if they didn't have one already) keeps a lot of crap off the engine...


My last 3 bikes have been silver with black extendas drilled 2 of 'em didn't glue 'em..

I glued a fender exenda on  mine when i bought it, never had any problems with it not sticking. Just made sure it was scrupulously clean and dry before sticking with the enclosed pads. I once fitted one to another bike by drilling, and finished up with rust appearing around the holes, so I would do that again.

They're not metal so rust won't be an issue.

One of the first things I do to any bike I buy, fit a fender extenda, always drill them and use M4 stainless steel button head screws and stainless nyloc nuts.
No problems, no rust, and haven't lost one yet. I think the black looks fine on any colour bike myself, you can get carbon effect as well.


I make my own Radiator guards (stone guards) as well, using car radiator grille mesh, different shapes and colours available on e bay.  Smile

I fitted an R &  G  fender extender to my MT09, came with sticky pads and plastic push rivets. I just used the rivets, looks beat and tidy.

The first thing I did to my Fazer was stick an extender to the mudguard with silicone. Twenty years and 200,000 miles on it's still firmly in place.
I wouldn't worry about the colour, black is well camouflaged against the tyre so it doesn't really notice. (OK, mine's a black bike, but I've seen plenty of red, silver, blue and brown Fazers with black extenders and they don't look any the worse for it.)

I've ordered one of the black carbon fibre ones.  Seems they are a must have item.


I'll chance it with the silicone.


Still fancy a belly pan but hopefully a silver one will come up for sale one day.
