Best way to lube chain when bike is on sidestand?
#1
As the title says what is the best way to lube the chain when you only have a sidestand?
I have no paddock stands and do not want to fit a Scottoiler or similiar.

The only way without a lift and not holding the back in the air on the side stand (not recommended!), is to lube a little at a time and keep moving forwards or back until the compete chain is done.

Thats what I am doing, takes ages to do it properly.
I was hoping someone might have had a brain wave and come up with an amazing simple quick idea.

Get someone else to put oil on the chain with a paint brush while you sit on it and move the bike slowly forward, it'll only take 2mins.
More people are born because of alcohol than will ever die from it.

Would it not be worth just buying a rear paddock stand? You can pick them up for as little as £20 for the basic ones?
Would make maintenance a lot easier ?

Car jack under bike and lift the rear wheel. If you have a mate get him to pick the back of the bike up and you lube the chain.

Easier to get the mate to push your bike slowly while you spray the lube on.

It's easy. How do you think the MOT inspector does it?
All you have to do is balance the bike on the side stand with the front on the ground and just turn the bars towards you and reach over the rear and pick the rear up balanced on the side stand.

You didn't mention all that in your original post.
