Side mounted Dual Air horn?
#1
Has anyone fitted a 'Ring' Dual Air horn or 'Stebel' Dual Air horn (and theres a waterproof version) onto the part of the FZS600 just forward of the engine on the side? that would be somewhere below the front indicator? I've seen naked bikes with horns fitted in that area of the bike so wondered if any '98-'03 fazer owners on this site have also done that?
...cheers in advance,....

yeah but its too much of a squeeze under the infill panel what with the forks closing in on it as they turn....and moving the horn backwards puts it very close to top of radiator. Also be good to move it lower to centralise mass etc....and might be even a tad louder being more exposed  Wink
Photos would be good if anyones got any? even of other bikes would be a start?

Been there about 5 years now without any real problem.
If i remember rightly i had to cut one piece of metal out of the way, part of a bracket i think, to make room, but being where it is under the infill panel protects it from the elements, especially water.
It's only ever played up on me once and that was when i hosed the bike with a fine spray after washing it and it obviously got in somewhere and screeched like a pissed off parrot for 3 days before it dried itself out.
It's nowhere near the forks, as you can see in the picture, and at around 139 decibels it's certainly loud enough where it is, although i'd really like one that sounds the same as a cruise ship.  :evil
Again, it's facing downwards to protect it from water ingress.

I have got the stebel magnum which is louder that the OEM piss pot and smaller that the full-on air horn although not as loud, still catches the mot guy out every year  :eek
I don't do rain or threat there of. dry rider only with no shame.

fazersharp, darrsi - replies much appreciated.
I've got the Ring version fitted more or less as darrsi mentioned.
But as I've got an original (and boxed) Stebel version which is their all-enclosed waterproof version I wanted to fit that one instead but on the exterior of the bike much like can be seen on some naked bikes. Sure I can always look on some mods forums of naked bikes but thought I'd start my search here? You never know - a '98-03 Fazer owner somewhere might just have a Stebel dual Air horn fitted to the exterior (engine region) of their bike?

Fitted my Stebal Nautilus under the infil just fine. Bit of a write up on my blog here: http://www.beginnerbiker.com/2014/09/hon...on-review/

I made a bit of a bracket, by bending some metal and drilling a couple of holes in it. Wired it with a relay (which I bolted to frame under tank just behind the yoke. All works a treat, definitely recommended.
