Tap & Bolt Size

Can somebody remind me what size tap and what size Allen bolts I need to remove the AIS from above the exhaust pipes at the front of the engine.

M8 tap & socket-cap bolts use a non tapered tap with plenty of lube
Follow Pat's guide here & you wont go wrong

Sorry to contradict but I strongly recommend an HSS tapered tap to cut the thread in the stubs.  You need to cut the thread to about 1cm depth only, so a tapered tap will give you all you need and more with much less chance of snagging while you're cutting the thread. Smile

I used 8mm stainless ones from Ebay cost a couple of quid

Do I need an M8 x 1.0, 1.25 or 1.5 tap?

Iirc 1.25 is standard M8 pitch, but it doesn't matter really as long as you get the right pitch bolts to match Smile

id try running a 6.8mm drill down 1st.its the right size for tapping m8x1.25 holes
