Can somebody remind me what size tap and what size Allen bolts I need to remove the AIS from above the exhaust pipes at the front of the engine.

M8 tap & socket-cap bolts use a non tapered tap with plenty of lube
Follow Pat's guide here & you wont go wrong

Sorry to contradict but I strongly recommend an HSS tapered tap to cut the thread in the stubs. You need to cut the thread to about 1cm depth only, so a tapered tap will give you all you need and more with much less chance of snagging while you're cutting the thread.

Iirc 1.25 is standard M8 pitch, but it doesn't matter really as long as you get the right pitch bolts to match

id try running a 6.8mm drill down 1st.its the right size for tapping m8x1.25 holes
