So, finally getting around to changing my tyres (I bought the things MONTHS ago and haven't got round to it).
Will I be able to pop the bead in with a footpump (actually have a standey-upee-hand one but can't remember what it's called!) or will I need a compressor?
Cheers
The chances of getting tyres to seat with a footpump are pretty close to zero imho.
The only time I tried to change tyres myself I ended up visiting four different garage forecourts before finding one with an air supply that delivered fast enough.
Hm, that's what I feared. Ta.
Starting to wish I'd just got the garage to do it TBH :\
What make/name of tyre are you putting on?
Aldi had some cheap compressors on sale along with the tyre inflator last week, probably some left if you look around.
even with a compressor take the valve core out and sometimes you have to put a ratchet strap round the tyre, you could try this with a hand pump or even get a load of mates with hand pumps and join them together or just pay the £15 to have it fitted and balanced?
PS I bought my compressor from toolstation £99, but still have get my tyres from a bike garage, by the time you pay delivery and fitting the work out about the price.
