ok so had a nice man break my engine apart not put the gearbox in I asked for and when put it he put it back together the cams or something is screwed where in Bristol can I drop my bike off two and know that when there finished It will not have to worry about it and just start riding it gently in .... also how much do you think it would cost to rebuild the cams valves pistons everything front of the gear box basicly.... I just spent a thousand 600 for him 400 on bike please help..............
so do you have any tips on garages thats will be able to help me out????????
Surely the person who messed it up should get it fixed?

I doubt many people on here have had such extensive work carried out on their bikes by a garage so may be reluctant to recommend anywhere...
As far as garages go, I do recommend Morpheus Motorcycles in Kingswood, BUT they are small so a large project is likely to take them a fair while to complete
hello mate i think i met you the other day im sorry if i interupted your lunch and thanks for the info by long time do you mean two weeks/ a month?
In my experience a lot of Bike repair places in Bristol are only interested in servicing, chains&sprockets - the simple, hassle free stuff. I wonder if Morpheus will even want to look at engine which has already been fiddled with? Might be worth getting a manual and going at it yourself. What exactly is the problem?
My mechanical skills started with putting air in the tyres, not an engine rebuild!

Psy, totally my opinion as im a complete novice.we all sound in agreement that youve sadly been shafted here & as much as that really sucks, the forums expertise is more biased towards individual advice about specific items & you dont seem to be getting much luck.actually Bristol seems a bit strangely thin on the ground with good mechanics if this post is anything to go by.
It may make hard reading but being a regular visitor here, perfectly decent, good running fazers are going for £1000 & even less at times.
Your bike clearly needs an unknown amount of money thrown at it & who knows what damage your earlier mechanic has done.yes he should be making things right but obviously cant be trusted so can see why you just want clear of him.thats your choice but limits the options.
To hazard a guess id say youll be a minimum of £500 straight off & if no hitches.
Could it be time to cut your losses.
My idea - buy a complete second hand engine & gearbox, wait for one that is guaranteed to work.
Better still - buy a cheap fully running fazer for £800 to £1000 & use your bike for any spares needed to get it to the same condition & selling any unwanted parts to make some tidy money back.you'll be surprised what money you could get back from good condition front fairing, fuel tank, plastics etc.forget the engine but sell the gearbox & carbs etc.
Good luck! 8)
Easiest way to go fast........don't buy a blue bike
Who is this "nice man"?
Is he actually a mechanic?

I would go to Morpheus Motorcycles in Kingswood first.

okay thank you for your addreses justa qeustion to how much does it actauly cost to get some one to replace the cylinder head valves??? thanks for all your words guy i am a newbie to bike of course but i can tell you im learning fast
Would it not be cheaper to buy a replacement engine?
How do you know there's a problem with the cams and the valves?
get a quote from a garage for the work and let us know....my guess ,it will be too expensive and replacement engine will be best bet....keep an eye on the for sale section as they do come up every now and again and theres always plenty of help on here if you want a hand in changing it
One, is never going to be enough.....
