I've had a scout around on fleabay, but got confused. can i use downpipes for later models? Or do i need to buy 1998 specific pipes? Cheers

Give these guys a call, i had these on my last fazer and the fit was perfect. First set snagged centre stand but they replaced same day. Good guys to deal with.

Thanks for the quick reply Craig, and those pipes look really nice, but i'm hoping to find something a bit cheaper, some decent second hand pipes would be good. If not, i'll keep them in mind, they'd look great.

Pretty sure they are all the same but sure someone else will be able to confirm.

Seen some second hand pipes in the for sale section here but i think it'll be worth paying the bit extra to have some shiny new stainless steel pipes. The more I think about it, the more i want them. Cheers for the link, i'll probably put the order in.

Get some used ones and spend £15 on Optiglanze and you can make them look like new!  Wink

Yes, downpipes from any FZS 600 will fit (NOT the FZ6 though)

Sandy bike spares are well known and are usually about the cheapest for new stainless steel. Most will recommend Motad though as they have the balance pipes between cylinders 1+2 and 3+4 which helps with the midrange

But as others with the Sandy spares will tell you - the difference is barely noticeable anyway!!

Phone motad directly, tell them you noticed a set of theirs for about £150 on eBay and do they have another set, works most times with them!

Ok, no probs, I haven't got round to ordering anything yet but which pipes have you got which have holes in? Cheers

My pipes have a rust hole in the collector, don't know if you have the same issue but I called NRP exhausts in Newark, Notts and he gave me a ballpark £20 to weld up and an additional £30 to sandblast and re-paint. I'm sending him some photos for a more accurate quote. Much cheaper than replacing them.

No not all pipes are the same

Yes all will fit but the angle of the tail pipe will be slightly different between early 98 99 models and the 2000 on bikes as the rear footrest hangers are lower on the later bikes

So when it comes to fitting your end can and getting the bolt for the strap to line up, if youre using later model pipes on an early bike it may not quite line up without a bit of pulling

Its normally possible but can make you think you have the wrong pipes

Delkevic pipes ordered. woohoo. I'll take some before and after pics once fitted.  Looking forward to the upgrade.

You should have said earlier fella - would have got you some when I had the end can off of ChristoT's bike  :rolleyes .

Do report back, need some new pipes and ideally new can too. Currently in split mind between Venom/Motard and the Delkevic pipes

No probs, I'm happy to invest in some shiny new ones.  Thanks though.
