Try increased revs a little then turn them on.
Mine used to flash if it decided it wanted more current before turning on.

I had the same sort of thing, turned out to be the battery.

If u have the digital controller version, those controllers are very picky about voltage, anything below 11-12v and they can cut out. Also said controllers have a habit of dying.

Do you only get the problem at idle, or does it happen at higher revs too?
I get the same with my Oxfords at idle (rpm too low for alternator to start charging), and goes back to normal once engine speed rises.

you will probably find that the voltage of the battery is low

ahh tis now a different problem as the blue light deffo flashes when battery voltage is less than desired however if it goes up  to 40 then sticks you are correct sir the controler is shall we was fooked  :'( however search flea bay as they do come up as individual items without having to buy the whole kit and caboodle

Mine did this, a quick email to oxford and sent the kit off for inspection (no receipt) and they said yup, switch is gone, here's a new one.

Worth a try Smile
