Exhaust Gas Leak - Solution ?
#1

just remembered that my bike is due an mot next month  :eek
i think there is a small gas leak on the exhaust where the end can meets the pipework.
i assume that this would be a fail.

I used silicone, clear stuf but after a couple of miles and a couple of bad rough roads later it was loose again and had to scrap it of, quick fix thou,

I found some firegum, like gun gum but it works as a lube at first to ease exhaust pipework onto each other then forms a seal with that lube, have yet to get the funds for it, event though u think its only a tennor. Comes in a tube rather than the gun gum tub

This is the stuff you need put a nice thick bead of it around the inside of the endcan & slide on.

the best quick fix I came up with for a blowing silencer / link pipe joint was to cut a coke can, roll it up and use it as a gasket between silencer / link pipe. Works well, looks ok (can't see it) and is cheap and easy!
