Wobbling front wheel !
#1
Suggestions please: If I take my hands off the bars the front end wobbles like crazy: also feels a bit unsure at hard acceleration. Possible causes ?

tyre pressure?

Had the same issue with mine and got advice that ranged from wheel bearings to stripping down the whole front end.

Check the Tyre pressure first and then the front wheel bearings next.

Do you have a top box or anything heavy on the back seat/rack?

Front end wobble, hands-off, decelerating isn't unusual.

Going light and floaty on hard acceleration ain't that unusual, either. Smile    However, it could be that you need to firm up the rear end.

How heavy are you?

Easy stuff first - have you changed the tires lately? unbalanced wheels or even some tires (my OE ones did this) can cause this, have a look for a clean spot on your wheel rim where a weight might have fallen off also.
As said by others addition of luggage can cause it or saggy rear sussies (ooer missis).

If non of these, then wheel bearing, head bearings, twisted forks, etc, etc, but tink about thye simple one first..
Never argue with an idiot, they will drag you down to their level then beat you with experience.

thanks folks. Will check pressures. Bike an 05 with only 3000 miles. Had new tyres last year but were not balanced then.
No additional luggage and a mere 13 stone rider.

Mines normally rock solid with my hands off, tho discovered the other weekend when I had packed soft panniers and camping gear strapped to the back, that I got massive wobbles on the front end!!!  It does get wibbly when accelerating hard tho.

It wobbles with your hands off the bars under acceleration?
I'd examine the choke cable then, it's probably wrapped around the idle adjusting screw and is slapping against the top and bottom yoke.
If your hands still keep coming off the bars, turn the hotgrips off or try some of those Oxford Handlebar winter muffs.
Tricky!
IF IT AIN'T BROKE, FIX IT 'TILL IT IS.
