Now look what you've made me do!

:eek OK, picture this..... I pull into a petrol station, put my card in the pump, enter my pin and pull my card out when this attractive woman in an extremely short skirt leans right into her car trying to retrieve something in the passenger footwell. Needless to say she had me totally transfixed on the  sight of her pert little arse and thong showing every little contour of her pussy. In the meantime I've inadvertently reached for the diesel nozzle.    She exits the car (show over) Still in a daze I put the nozzle in the tank and squirt (prematurely) I come to my senses and whip it out having put 0.28 of a litre or 39 pence worth in. YES, I KNOW I'M A DUMBASSbut my question is..... after topping my tank with the proper stuff and riding the 3 miles or so home, have i got change my fuel as well as my pants. :lol

I'd heard some excuses for putting diesel in but that one takes some beating :lol

I'd say 39 pence worth aint gonna hurt anything. Maybe a little smoke if anything?

Now, are you sure you're not making that up ?  Smile

I once put a quantity of diesel in the wifes car and it did smoke- it cost me to fill the tank to the brim to dilute the diesel but I got away with it other than that

Pmsl.  You should get away with just topping up the tank if it is an FZS but for the FZ 6 you may want to flush he tank before killing the cat.
Another ex-Fazer rider that is a foccer again

Don't think it should make that much difference to the bike, I work for a largeish engineering firm with over 100 vans, we quite often towed in a diesel one that got filled with petrol, maybe a gallon of diesel and 8 gallon of petrol, the bloke I work with used to run his mark 2 Astra on this stuff, quite a lot of smoke on start up, and the oil level used to fill up with all the diesel that the plugs could not burn, so might be worth changing the oil aftera couple of tank fills of petrol.
If you worried about falling off your bike, you'd never get on.

Basically ... we would probably all have done the same and are only jellous cos when it happens to us it is a 16 stone female lorry driver in passion killers rather than a hottie in a thong....... that sort of this only happens in porn movies...... there were no cameras around were there... other than CCTV.... maybe you could ask for a copy  :lol ... for your records!

You at least did not stare at her without doing anything else  :lol .

Lada Niva owner's manual (old soviet 4x4) allows to mix a bit of diesel for very cold starts. I think your bike will be ok

it will be fine (whether its got a cat or not).

Mate of mine did it first ride out on his new 'blade. we siphoned out as much as we could (but there was surely a damn sight more than .28litre left ion there) and refilled with petrol, and its been fine ever since. Smoked a bit for the first two tanks, but no lastign damage. Still going strong now, around 6 years later.
