Hi there
Not sure which year your bike is but i'm not sure you can, mines an 02 fazer and you can't. Maybe you can with a later model and i'm sure someone will be on soon t let you know.

You can get the foam cut down, and then re-covered. Been a few people done that - there's a guy in Huddersfield has a reputation for quality work (Tony Archer, I think his name is)

Hi
I you feel confident do it yourself, I did mine with an electric carving knife and smoothed and blended the shape with course sand paper then restapled the cover on. (I only unstapled the front half of the seat)
If your only looking for a small redution in hight remove the four rubber bungs from under the seat
this gives about 12mm or 1/2'' on old money

thanks for the tip.
probably a 1/2" reduction will do the job.
i can get both feet on the floor but not fully, so an extra 1/2" could do the trick Smile

Another way would be to change your riding style, you only need one foot on the ground at a time either holding the rear brake whilst stationary or selecting gear. That way you keep your right foot off the ground away from passing traffic etc especially if your next to a car at lights etc.
Just a thought.

you could also fit longer bones, that would lower the rear of the bike and also lower the forks a bit,but it would lower your ground clearence

Was in the same boat when I got another Fzs600
I had both the Longer dog-bones and a custom seat, makes all the difference

No longer need either, replaced the dog-bones with originals and the Custom seat is in the Garage
PM me if your interested in either ok

Or you could do it the stylish way and fit a shorter Hagon shock . No messing with seat and a straight bolt on .

As luck would have it I have said item plus shortened sidestand to suit  All in £ 80

Pick up in Manchester or post whatever

having removed the 4 rubber "bungs" the seat is now pretty much perfect for me Big Grin
just a thought though,
would that lead to scratching / rubbing of the seat on the frame ?
if so, what could i use to prevent it without altering the seat height (too much) ?
thanks

Hi

After removing the 4 rubber bungs
I made some small spacers with longer bolts for in between the frame and the seat holding catch.
which moved the catch down held the seat more securely.
I can not recall how long the were.
