Have the carbtune and recommend it. Have never used anything else. But the carbtune is dead easy to use. I used it to balance my carbs as one of the first jobs after 20 years away from tinkering with engines.  Big Grin

And me.

Used successfully on 600 and 1000.

As in most cases you gets what you pay for and the Carbtune is worth it.

Thing about having a Carbtune... you buy it new for £60 and you can sell it on Ebay in 5 yrs time for £40 ...

I have a cheap EBay one, wish i had gone for a carbtune..
The needles are not damped very well so flick up and down like nobodies business.

only way i could do it was hold the revs at a steady 3000 rpm and then let go and adjust. it now idles better than it did before and runs better so it looks to have worked.

long story short.. get a carbtune.....
Lord,
Grant me the WD-40 to move those things that are stuck, the Duck tape to fasten those things that are loose, And the wisdom to know the difference.

I bought a carbtune, have never used anything else, but I reckon its worth the extra few quid.
Money doesn't buy happiness, but it buys beer, and that helps!

I use my gauges with great success, If you put in the damper valves they are fine.

Well worth the investment, but make sure you check the TPS setting after balancing the carbs
