I know someone with a Daytona and he mentioned his fuel tank has blisters in it from ethanol added to fuel. Think he said it was because the tank is nylon.

Can't remember the model/year though might be worth having a dig around for info on that...

Go for the GSXR-600 or the R6 both cracking but are very different from a Fazer useable but have their draw backs comfort being one that said if you ride daily and dont suffer from back/arm issues not too tall they can offer all day comfort.

They are both fast, very  :eek  Wink  :evil  compared to a Fazer once revved will leave one for dead  :lol  they eat front/back tyres and brake pads if you give them handfuls everywhere.  Not to bad on juice for what you're getting in performance dont expect more than mid 30's from the Gixxer and 40's from the R6 normal riding start nailing either and this will sink dramatically.  Both are injected the Gixxers work better the the R6 Yam just can't quite match the fuelling and the ride can be jerky at times I also feel the Gixxer pulls cleaner all through the rev range.

Both are very evenly matched in performance fag packet between them it comes down to style and which one you can get the cheapest, both are a little over priced and you should be able to get a few hundred off each.

The R6 looks a good buy!!

My mate had serious issues with his Gixxer - Cam chain/cam chain tensioner - then a bent valve(only 24k miles)... think I will stick with the tuning fork for a little longer yet.  :lol

what do you plan using it for? i used to have a Thundercat and then an R6 - but it's the 'cat i wish i'd held on to as a 'second bike'. not terribly glamorous but comfortable, relatively cheap to run, relatively easy to service etc. etc.
Someone sent me a postcard picture of the earth. On the back it said, "Wish you were here."

I had an '04 FZ6 for about 9 months. Never bonded with it. I found it snatchy and didnt think it handled as well as my 99 FZS600! Quite quick though, saw 150 on the speedo a couple of times. (On the track of course)!!  :lol

I had a thundercat and apart from the stock suspension, which will more than likely have been upgraded now anyway, It was a very good bike. They have a big fairing by todays standards which is very effective, make just shy of 100bhp and will top 150mph if your brave. Decent bikes dont make much either, real bargains imo
