Hi, not sure on the K&N question, but I have a Scorpion carbon can (inc link pipe) sitting in the garage if you're interested? I had it on the bike for less than 500 miles, so its in excellent condition.

Accepted wisdom is that the Fazer 600 runs a bit rich as standard and as such will take a K&N filter without need to alter jets (this goes for with an aftermarket can too).  I've had a K&N in for 5 years and 15k miles and no problems.

I had K&N and Scorpion can and it ran fine. As daveph says the Fazer 600 runs a bit rich as standard so plenty have done this mod with no jetting changes.

what performance increase does the k and n filter give along with an exhaust compared to with just a new exhaust fitted?

Not much but it will clean everything up make the bike feel much crisper the Fazer is one of the few bikes where do really get a nocticable improvement.

The K&N can also be cleaned and reused - so no need to ever buy another air filter for the bike.

Quite hard to notice any genuine performance increase, I don't know of anyone who has done a before and after dyno check. It's definitely noisier and seems to rev a bit more freely, which I prefer.
