That’s fashion baby.  It’s bling.  It’s even got Dragster written on the tank when it clearly ain’t.
Quote:Now there no denying that the VTR is the cooler bike but looks wise I just think the Cbr600rr was so much better.
Foc me standards are slipping fast.  The VTR1000 is lovely, particularly the SP2, as is the CBR600RR (thought really your photo should be of the original with the right way up forks – it looks so much better).

These are bikes that look good and go good.

But I think cool bikes have to be bikes that are almost universally cool.  Bikers might stop and stare at a brutal or an SP2 but nobody else will.  Cool bikes make everybody pay attention and think – foc that’s cool.  They are bikes that make you feel cool, bikes that make cagers wish they were cool enougth to ride em.  Ice cool.

Fair points and yeah even being honest with myself I have to admit that sports bikes arent ever cool Haha

So I doubt this will be to your taste but let's try doing a different direction to the cafe racer look...

I don't know --- its all well and good looking cool but not many look like they will handle very well in anything other than a straight line. Like those solid wheels - how the hel are you going to get them around the corner with the gyoscopic effect of that mass.  Also manufacturer's are great at showing us bikes without a crappy uk reg plate but as soon as you add one it completely spoils the rear look - heck some don't even have indicators --- yes I know that you don't need them in this country by law but any "coolness" is going to be negated by you sticking your hand out like Frank Spencer when you want to make a turn.
But a having said all that the bike that always seems tro turn my head is a Brutale
I don't do rain or threat there of. dry rider only with no shame.

Come on sharpie.... live a little. Its about coolness not practicality ?

Besides, what's uncool about good old Frank ?

[/quote]And the gear shift looks like it is designed for space suit wearers, seems that cool and practical rideability do not go hand in hand. Or the ability to go around corners

excellent thread VNA.
Theres a firm stateside doing a z1esque four pipe setup for kwacks current z900. aside from the paint it makes the bike look pretty cool imho.

Sat there drinking me large latte looking at it out of the window and thought 'fuck it. I know I'm broke and not working, but your going nowhere. best I get meself a job...'
I know they aint most peoples idea of cool. but for me, Honda got this bike very, very right, and its got its own beautifully engineered cool, and then some Smile

FFS! :eek :eek  I didn’t call the thread the practicable and good handling bike thread.  Jesus. :lol
This is purely about cool and being cool.

Dude look at it, it is so fucking cool.  I don’t even like dragster and chopper bikes, but I cannot deny that thing is cool.  The shapes and minimalism are perfect.  And check the lack of cables, it’s got a twist clutch with the cable running down the inside of the bars.  It is pure stylised handmade minimalist totally bling free cool.

You know Ogri sometimes the Japanese accidently make something cool.  I personally think CB13000’s are cool.  Not ice cool, but cool all the same.  It’s just UJM on steroids and somehow it just looks great.

A Fazer thou might be a far far better bike, but it will never ever be as cool as the CB13000.

I think this one will age well.  And of course it has to be the naked one, a nose fairing wrecks it.
