Nice evening for a bit of fazer fettling .......took the swinging arm off...shock linkage all ok, a bit grubby but ok, will give it a clean and re-lube.....ive got a bit of play in the swinging arm bearings, not sure how much is acceptable but will change them to make sure...wemoto list a kit for £28 +p&p...makers name....slinky glide.....not heard of them before and not a term ive used for a very long time :lol
Red...some geezers on here recommended me a bearing company, proper engineering place, i can concur that they are worthy....it was something like marksman, defo had like a target for its logo......anyhoo they were about 10 earth pounds each which is a good saving.
Ill try look for the receipt to save you endlessly searching through old threads.
Actually i may search "noggythenog" & swingarm & find the old post.
Just bear with me a little bit.

Sorry red.....i had to watch that bear gryls survival thing & then things happened....n stuff............unfazed was it you that recommended me them in the first place or did you just do a search?.......im sure it was you...if it was then sorry for not remembering......bad drills really aint it.
But has red saved any money....thats what counts.......fast bike discount

no probs MR NOG.......fazer thou not shown on web site, have emailed them, looking at the other yam bearings its looks like there will be a small saving.£4 ish for both....if i dont get a reply by tonight i`ll order from wemoto, they have them in stock and are quick to deliver
Not included with this kit.....swing arm is a bit different to wheel spindle.wheel has center spacer and two sleeves/collars that run on the roller wheel bearing, on the swinging arm these three pieces are one.....old one was very good so I cleaned it up and re-lubed....

Fitted the new bearings tonight.......my drift was'nt going to work, not enough room to get it in there, so I prised the rollers out and removed the plastic roller carrier from both sides I then used a length of 22mm copper tubing to knock the outer bearing casing out.....worked a treat .......cleaned everything up and pressed the bearings in square with my hands just to get them started, I then used a sash cramp to push them all the way in, then using a scoket slightly smaller than the bearing for the last little bit
Dropped the spindle in and no play what so ever .....will put it back on the bike tomorrow.
You just cannot beat improvisation, it's the mother of invention.
Are you going to patent that bearing tool :lol
Are the frame rubbers covering the Spindle in good condition. Put some grease inside them to stop and water ingress and don't forget to grease the bearing covers.
Pat applied for :lol....this time next year I'll be a millionaire :rollin......yep..both caps in vgc.....will be well greased, thanks for the tip....bearing covers already fitted and packed with grease.....
Nice one Red, noticed a bit of play on my swing arm the other week, tightened up the nut and it's better but still a bit of play. Will refer to this post when I attempt mine. Cheers.
hi dazza....its an easy job, bearings under £30....roller bearings , so nipping your nuts is not really going to work :\ ...all being well i`ll have it all back together tonight and have a test ride .....
