Z1000SX, about the only thing I can think of really!

After reading up on the z1000, I'm not really convinced that it does anything better than the gen 1, rather, it just does the same, maybe as well. I don't think it's so much an upgrade, as Kawasaki's version of the same thing. I think all it would do is give you a bike that looks different (more modern), and has the Kawa "feel", rather than Yamaha. What I would want, is something that does everything better than the gen 1, and I'm not convinced there's a bike that can.

I agree regarding the z1000sx, it's a similar bike to the fzs, but i don't think it's any better. The main reason being emissions and noise regs etc.. stop it from being more advanced. Handling wise i think again it's fairly similar.
If it's broken, it's not fixed.

This debate never dies does it? :b
My own view the fz1 is better in the respects that matter to me as a solo bike hence i prefer mine. If it was a two up bike I'd get a sorted gen one. Gen two feels sharper, lighter, sportier, more generally aggressive IMHO.

ogri..exactly ...its what you feel when you ride the bike.
Its why some of us who have owned fz-1s come back to the FZS............. ITS WHAT WE LIKE !!! :rolleyes

you have your passion.... we have ours . 8)

and its why I needed almost 6k miles on a GS till I found its sweet spot...some never will. :\
