Anyone appearing on it could hardly NOT be aware of this and should have thought twice before making comments like the ones he was recorded making.
But, of course, too many people just want to blame this on "wokeness" or "political correctness" and use it to justify their own bigoted behaviour towards anyone who is in the slightest bit different.
TV programmes like Come Dancing tend to be populated with "sensitive" types, likely to be involved with the general TV culture and easily set off. I, and others like me, started in the local steel works and continued thhroughout life mixing with ordinary hard working folk who called a spade a spade, new right from wrong, and had a certain amount of appreciation of their nation and its history. I pay little attention to the attention seeking, narcissistic, surgically enhanced, so called celebrity culture sadly dominating everyday life.
