On a Gen 1 you really don't need a steering damper.
If you are having handling issues, spend your money on improving the fork internals and the rear shock.
You can start by lowering the forks through the yokes (clamps) by 10 - 15mm. This puts more weight on the front and quickens the steering a little.
Learn to set up and ride the Gen 1 properly before you waste time and money on buying a Gen 2.
