Oops.....tricky wiring!

Ok Gurus, I need some help please if any of you have fitted this type of thing before....


Q1/  The Koso white wire is for gear indicator, once fitted, there is a procedure you do which means the unit apparently learns your gears.
The diagram seems to imply that you just take the white wire to neg.....can that be right?
Q2/ The Koso comes with it's own screw in temp. sensor, could I not just tap into the existing sensor wire? If not, where on earth is the Fazer's temp. sensor to be found?
Q3/ What on earth is an EOBD?  :eek


Currently regretting very much buying this unit so any advice greatly appreciated!  :o :\
