I would assume that it clips into place OR it might have a couple of slots that need lining up before it can be lowered.


I suggest that you try rotating the shade while feeling for a slight notchy feeling which might indicate a slot having just lined up, then carefully prise it off. When that fails just hit it with the aforementioned hammer and replace with a nice new LED unit.
