The headlights on an R1 4xv,5jj and 5pw 1998-2003 (exhaust up the side models) have 1 headlight unit consisting of a left and right H4 hi/ lo beam so a pair would be the whole unit as its a single unit, but the R1 5VY ( underseat model) has 2 separate light units each unit has two H7 lamps fitted ( the high beam one looks like a projector light) so four lights, two left and two right , i hope that has made everything clear as mud as i even confused myself writing that :rolleyes
