I de-catted a manifold once of a sports car that I owned, in fact they were pre cats in the manifold, and it had the main cat in the silencer box. The precats, and my understanding is that the main exhaust cat are made of a porcelain material and can be removed with a hammer and steel rod just smash the stuff out it's just a few minute job. I actually fitted a new Stainless Steel de-catted manifold
