Chargers normally take their information from the voltage of the battery so they can indicate the battery is fully charged even if one of the cells is dead and you don't have enough amps to turn the engine over, or not for long. If you want to find out for sure you can take the bike to an independent battery specialist who will be able to attach a proper diagnostics tool but it sounds like you may as well bite the bullet and get a new one. Following rave reviews I have had a Motobatt for a year now and have had zero problems with it, Yuasa and Varta are also good. This is a pretty good deal - http://www.sportsbikeshop.co.uk/motorcyc...rod/187421
