A good de-rust and an undercoat and then a top coat on the stand today, There was an "incident" however with the rubber stopper, I read here just the other day about people loosing them so I though that it would be best to not move it and risk damaging it, I caught it with the bench grinder wire brush and sent it flinging up the garden :rollin . It had ripped it off (see picture) so now I will have to re attach with a bolt :'(
The bit of tape on the right is where I hung my nuts ------ and bolts after first taping over the shaft part that will eventually be metal to metal with grease lube
