I have bought two gen1's without personally viewing them over the years. Both on this site and were exactly as described. I paid £140 to have them delivered by courier. I simply asked lot's of questions and for lot's of photographs and all receipts, service history, tyres etc... Don't be put off by distance.. Just make sure you get enough photos and answers to your questions 
If it's broken, it's not fixed.
