Yup shorter dog bones make the rear shock feel stiffer, I think it has an affects on the compression somehow. It's a good way to get the rear feeling that little bit more up to the job. I have a 25mm jack-up kit fitted but have a Nitron shock so cant help out with suspension settings but I'd suggest keeping the preload up and decreasing the compression damping if it feels on the firm side. I'm probably going to get the 50mm kit when I can afford it as I have my Nitron on maximum ride height and would prefer a bit more control over this which the even shorter dog bones would allow.
