I wasn't entirely happy with the original shape and also thought it was a little small.


After faffing about with the white polystyrene I got some proper blue foam which is miles better to shape and much easier to clean up.  the white stuff got everywhere when sanding etc and static sticks it to you, carpet, shoes, living room carpet... 'er indoors wasn't best pleased!


So yeah, blue stuff, shapes really nice and doesn't make much of a mess.  A glowing endorsement - It won't take body filler though so I will need to coat it with something before that stage, probably some poster paint or PVA.














I have the leading edge of the "wing" following the same line as the engine head just to tie it in and have some continuity with the existing bike lines etc.


There won't be any gaps, this is just the basic shape, I will add body filler and blend it smoothly into the original fairing then add a section that will run behind it then extend up to mount points.  This will then be used to make a mould...  Thats the plan anyway,  I have some carbon fiber big enough to do these but will do the first ones in fiber glass to test them out.
