Now when I go out in the rain the number plate, top box rear, tail light and rear plastics are covered in road spray and dirt. Looks like I'll have to make a mudflap. I'm not keen on spoiling the look of the bike but I ride all year round so it's a must. Any suggestions or help gratefully received.
Actually this the reason I've starter using tank bags. Top box messes with your bike air flow. Even it can cause you wobble and crash on high speeds.
The top box is creating some kind of vortex and vacuum behind your bike and inreases the air drag in a way similar to that for a car boot. Probably you can experiment with some spoilers to fix that :lol
And I read an article that any weight high on the back of the back may contribute to tank slappers (top box or some high heavy tail bags):

I am just using tank bags now.
