Back to pondering this again. I nearly had a pair of 5PW forks from ebay last night, outbid at last minute!
Does anyone know if the billet yokes on ebay (Billet bike bits) are a bolt straight on solution? What I mean is, can I just buy a pair of forks and one of these or will I still need to get things machined and / or a fork stem imported from the states.
They are about 450 quid, which seems a lot for something you will hardly see but if they do the job they might be worth it.
I am guessing that otherwise I can use a CNC machined top yoke for bar conversion on an R1 or gen 2 top yokes (100 -125 quid) bottom yoke from any R1?? (50 quid) plus fitting a new stem and fitting together (est 180 quid) so about 350 quid and all the hassle as I dont have any good engineering contacts.
I know Luke has just done Nick Crisp's bike, that looks good. Any info on what options and costs that was?
