Bike runs well without speedo sensor. The only drawback is obvious, speedo shows 0 all the time.
The original sensor on the front wheel's left side works with 5 Volts, gives 4 pulses per rotation. The new setup should do the same (assuming same wheel circumference) if you want proper speedo readings.
