R1 Front End Cost Estimates
#26
With this R1 fork do I need the R1 wheel NO and radial brakes YES or will it work with gen1 wheel and blue spot brakes NO AND YES SEE NOTE and then able to upgrade to full R1 front end later. Do all R1 forks require R1 unmodified yolks on both these options.BOTTOM YOKE WILL NEED MODDING IN EVERY CASE TO FIT GEN 1 Will I need new front mudguard for both options YES

NOTE gen 1 wheel is 5 bolt r1 is 6 so discs are a issue if wanting 320mm
this means upgrading to r1 wheels

to make this simple bbb i recon your best option is a set 03 r1 legs to gen 2 top and bottom yokes
this retains ya wheel and current calipers whilst still giving you a good fork upgarde
you can add extenders at a later date
