TfL buses and taxis contribute a large proportion of emissions on an individual basis because of their high mileage and the dominance of diesel within the fleets.

How often do you see buses in London spewing out great clouds of black smoke? So now they will actually be required to do something about this? So one of the knock-on effects will be higher fares to pay for bus servicing/replacement I guess. What other consequences will this ULEZ have?

And how long before other cities choose (because revenue) or are forced (because Europe) to do this?

Life is about to become a lot more expensive (again) for a lot of people.
