This sounds worse than the normal little bit of front wheel wobble. Could be the head stock bearings

When the oil leaked out of my rear shock the bike was going round corners with just the shock spring supporting me and the bike.
Proper wobbles.

Scary stuff. That's the sort of thing that causes crashes

It felt like the rear tyre was sliding momentarily on bends, and i would immediately adjust steering to compensate, as if i was riding a speedway bike.
Used to wake me up in the mornings though.  :lol

I had this a couple of weeks ago, only I'd also get wheelspin when accelerating. I concluded I rode through some oil or similar on my journey home at night, it was terrifying! Normal speed down to a max of 50mph...

[size=1em]stevierst, it's a 600. Regarding your points:
The front tyre is nearly new. The rear tyre was replaced a few thousand miles back, and is getting slightly flat in the middle, but it did it before too.
Shouldn't be, just had it MOT'd (non-dodgy) and no comments were made on them.
Again, shouldn't be. Wobbled before I changed the swingarm, and before the new chain, and it's definitely been realigned. Not needed adjusting since I got a working scottoiler either.
The front forks failed MOT due to being too stiff, took a little oil out of each. Wobble both before and after.
Swing arm and link bushes mostly new.

I guess I might have a buggered shock. Seemed OK when I removed it, but didn't check in detail, I might play with the preload and see if anything changes.

The general consensus on here is that they tend to last around 20,000 miles before needing some sort of attention, or replacing.
More people are born because of alcohol than will ever die from it.
