As the driver has admitted liability, shouldn't he cover the cost of recovery?
One thing is for certain, you need to get it shifted pronto before someone else does.
I had a mkII escort as my first car, and yep I crashed it into the back of another car within a couple of weeks. I parked it up on a forecourt in Farnborough to collect it next day. Went back and it had gone. It was found in London a week later a bit crispy!
