I've been working near the museum recently and have been once or twice. It's a little overcrowded at the best of times I have to say and an hour is enough to see it all I reckon.
If you are in the area for a while I would head over to Borough Market afterwards (15 minute walk) and have some quality scoff and enjoy a pub or two. If you head towards the river from behind the market there is an excellent riverside walk with the Tate Modern to the West and the Golden Hind replica to the East. It should be really nice there today in the sun.
