I know it's an example Darrsi but it's also a possibility of a gearbox seizing which I don't fancy. Think I've checked everything it could be. The only way to be sure is open heart surgery which is out of my capabilities and will probably cost an arm & a leg - even with my mechanic at £35/hr. Once the issue is found it's still a fair cost to sort. Other option is a replacement engine but only if I know the history and then a good couple of hundred for the lump alone.
I've had a weird desire for ABS for some time now so it could be the answer by chopping it in - 2 issues sorted in one go.
Will probably mull it for a while and keep an eye out for a replacement lump.
