For touring at motorway speeds, I think taking away the windblast from your chest and shoulders is the most comfortable way to go. I can live with a bit of buffeting to my head although generally the taller you go the noisier it can get. It can get tiring hanging on if the wind is pushing at your chest for hours at a time. I've tried many screens but ended up adapting a gen 2 Yamaha touring screen to fit mine. The faster you go the higher the wind is pushed up so Autobahn speeds are still comfortable bolt upright. There is an American company called Rifle I think that make tall and wide screens for touring. This is the way to go if you want real touring comfort IMO. I agree with Nick though, there are many other factors that can make touring more comfortable.
