Cylinder head replacement engine out?

Last time I did one with a friend whose engine dropped a valve, he took the engine out before I got there and he said he could not get the clearance over the top of the studs when he tried to lift off the head.
Good to know from someone who has done it for future reference.

Exactly what I was thinking. It looks like it nearly does...


...but there is about 10mm of doubt.
