Well it's no so much that the cost is an issue but like most people I don't want to spend the money if I wouldn't notice that much of an improvement. I have upgraded to the R6 shock on my Gen 1 but to be fair I haven't ridden the Gen 1 for over 12 months due to using the boxeye (shameful) so I don't know how it performs yet :\
Besides, if I was upgrading the suspension on the boxeye I would want to try something that is a straight swap rather than having to make any modifications, which I believe you have to do by fitting the R6 unit. I was kind of set on the Hyperpro rear shock for the boxeye but it seems as though the Nitron is getting good feedback on here and the price is very similar.
