Straight out to the garage after work today, another 3 nuts off no problem.that just leaves the middle two.....startwith the top one.not budging.break out the angle grinder and cut a slot down the side of the nut , find an old imperial socket that fits and it comes off a treat
....that leaves one.....ccant get the angle grinder in there , bugger........the nut is a bit worn but is the origanal with the flange at the base, so I find an oversized socket that rests on the flange and tap it with a hammer to try and shock it free.use I tight fitting imperial socket and try to loosen it.......it moves, just a bit, but it moves....do a little dannce around the garage :rollin....more wd40, its all I have, and try again....it moves some more.a bit more pressure and.........BUGGER....snapped the stud :'(......left me about 12mm to play with.....not a disaster, might be able to do something with that, theres plenty of room if I end up boring it out
.....take the can off and the nut and bolt that holds the back of the collector box and the down pipes should fall away...........NO........middle two downpipes are stuck solid.....20 mins of squirting, levering and pulling and they finally come off....bit of corrosion but will clean up ok...
