I quite enjoy riding in the rubbish weather. Nothing quite wakes you up in a morning like watching for oil, puddles, and trying to guess what the wind is going to do. I get to work soaked through, but always smiling about the commute.
Couple of tips that I've found so useful especially for wet riding. (sorry if you already know)
1) Nip the tank with you legs when breaking, taking all the weight of your body off your arms. This transfers the weight lower down and means you can stop quicker and with less chance of lock up.
2) When cornering get your weight on the outside peg and hang off the bike a bit. This gives you a better understanding of what the rear tyre is doing, as well as keeping the bike more upright. I do this for every corner in the wet - I'm sure I look like a plonker hanging off the bike like Shakey Byrne, but it gives me so much more confidence in the wet (and allows me to get the throttle opened back up quicker).
