Oil Plug beside oil level window?

So should we all change ours before we all suffer the same.
Cant see why the plug is so expensive tho.
Having just changed the coolent - when you remove the drain plug nothing comes out untill you take off the filler cap- wouldnt this be just the same, or even less so as the oil is thicker and is not so far above the draining hole and so dosent have a head of pressure above
